The basic structure of a light guide is made up of a conductive matrix (an aluminum tube or other metal material), a photoconductive layer and a protective layer on it. The photoconductive layer is a photosensitive material. In the dark environment, the resistivity is very high, similar to the insulator. After light irradiation, it will quickly become a conductor. The quality of the electrostatic latent image on the surface of the drum is an important factor affecting the quality of printed matter, and the quality of the electrostatic latent image is also related to the potential and uniformity of the surface of the photoconductor, which is closely related to the quality of the charge. Therefore, when the light guide drum is charged, the charge on the surface of the light guide drum should be evenly distributed and the surface potential required is reached.
